Send SX and MX Champ Ryan Villopoto a 'Get Well' message
As you probably know, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto injured his knee last weekend in Seattle. The two-time Supercross Champion, defending AMA National Motocross Champion, three time AMA MX Lites National Champion, and multi-time member of the winning USA Team for Motocross of Nations had surgery on his knee, and will not defend his AMA Motocross title in 2012.

R4TC: 2010 Ride for the Cure at Cahuilla Motocross Park
I haven't hit the track much in 2010, but knowing that the 4th Annual Motocross Ride for the Cure Event was coming, I dusted off the KTM, dropped it off at Malcolm Motorsports for some fine tuning, hit Milestone Motocross Track for a handful of warm ups and I was ready to enjoy the funnest event of the year hosted by motocross enthusiast herself, Laurie Carey, who is constantly raising the bar for fundraising, support, education and interaction for Breast Cancer Awareness!
The morning started off amazing, perfect day to moto! The sky's were bright blue and littered with dark fluffy rain clouds! Dropping rain in perfect track watering patterns, the day was in full swing and the pits were packed! Tons of Factory support lined up for the event, they even had a never ending Freestyle show in the works! Mike Metzger, the God Father of FMX was doing his thing and dozens of other talented riders busting out tricks for the fans.
I pretty much settled into a pack rat of MXGirls, WMA Pro Rider Elizabeth Bash, Race Techs Michelle Marshall, and Mission Motorsports Brooklyn McClendon. We had a blast mixing it up on the main and vet tracks, sporting our decorated "Ride for the Cure" Bra's and having a blast spinning laps, saving boobies!
In the end I was amazed at the growth this event has accumulated over the years, by far the most impressive outcome I've seen. I'm looking forward to next year's event, but more importantly, it's touching to see all the work Laurie Carey puts into the Support and Awareness of Breast Cancer.

RJ Says - Supercross Safety 2012
Anyone who saw what happened with Trey Canard and Ryan Morais at Dodger Stadium Saturday night knows that it was a horrendous crash. Nobody likes to see that. Unfortunately that’s part of our sport, and crashes do happen.
I’ve heard opinions from everybody about how it could have been prevented. What it comes down to is that two guys were trying to occupy the same space at the same time and wound up going down very hard. It was a scary crash - it affected a lot of people in addition to the two riders.
What I would like to talk about is how Feld Motorsports, the AMA, track personnel, and the Asterisk medical crew handled the whole situation.

James Stewart Out for New Orleans Supercross
James Stewart has been suffering from the effects of a fractured hand since his crash in Indianapolis, which was further aggravated in Houston. He will sit out round 14 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series this Saturday, April 14, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, LA. to allow his hand additional time to recover. Before rejoining the series, Stewart will have the injury re-evaluated by his doctor.
Stewart’s teammate, Davi Millsaps will be on the gate in New Orleans looking to advance to second overall in the series standings. CBS will air the original broadcast with next day coverage on April 15 starting at 1:00 p.m. (EST).

The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Season Celebration
This year's AMA Motocross Banquet & Season Celebration was held in a magnificent banquet room at the Pala Resort & Casino. The room was decorated beautifully, lined with motocross décor, as well as a stage decorated with the championship bikes and awards. The line-up of food, appetizers, desserts, and beverages was very elegant and delicious.
After dinner, the awards ceremony began. Jason Weigandt, along with Tim Cotter hosted the show. And of course Jason started it just like he does many of his shows - after slamming down an energy drink.
Jason went on to talk about each round of this summer's AMA Motocross Nationals, with a list of funny jokes pertaining to all the good and bad situations at each of the races. After that, the awards and trophies were handed out.
The night was filled with special memories, good times, and laughs. One poignant moment was when Kevin Windham accepted the award for 'Sportsperson of the Year'. Kevin always has a great way of expressing himself, but made a great comment towards his friend & the team manager, Mike LaRocco. He commented on Mike's motivation, that pushed Kevin to work hard and do his best ... it was touching, but at the same time very funny.

2012 AMA Supercross Series - New Orleans Preview
This weekend the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series heads down to the Bayou and New Orleans for the 14th event of the 17 round series. Although defending champion Ryan Villpoto wrapped up the title at Round 13 in Houston two weeks ago, the two-time SX champ still has every intention of bringing his “A” game to the remaining four rounds. The #1 red plate holder will certainly be the favorite to take home another victory, but there are several riders who still have a role to play in the points chase.
Ryan Dungey has not raced since St. Louis, but he remains in second place the championship, just one point ahead of Davi Millsaps, who has been having an excellent second half of the indoor season. Millsaps could easily take over second place this weekend if Dungey does not show up to race.

1971 Plymouth Duster 340+6
This kit I bought from Mr. Prestigious, aka streetrod aka Barry Faddon over a month ago.
I wasn't sure how I was going to build it, but I wanted it different from the '70 Duster 340 conversion I built almost 3 years ago. After some thought, I decided to build it as a hotted up version with different paint, graphics, induction, and wheels and tires. My paint will be Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange with 1970 'Cuda 340 Hockey Stick stripes from Keith Marks.
I am undecided on which wheels to use. The wheels at the top of the picture are simular to Cragar Dragstars or the American Racing Torque Thrusts at the bottom. I am leaning towards the Dragstars though. We shall see...

2012 AMA Supercross Series - New Orleans Preview
This weekend the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series heads down to the Bayou and New Orleans for the 14th event of the 17 round series. Although defending champion Ryan Villpoto wrapped up the title at Round 13 in Houston two weeks ago, the two-time SX champ still has every intention of bringing his “A” game to the remaining four rounds. The #1 red plate holder will certainly be the favorite to take home another victory, but there are several riders who still have a role to play in the points chase.
Ryan Dungey has not raced since St. Louis, but he remains in second place the championship, just one point ahead of Davi Millsaps, who has been having an excellent second half of the indoor season. Millsaps could easily take over second place this weekend if Dungey does not show up to race.

Jessica Patterson is the 2010 AMA Women's National Motocross Champion. Here is Supercross.com's latest interview with JP$.
Jessica, congratulations on your 2010 AMA Women's National MX Championship. You walked away with some amazing trophies from this summer's race wins .... where do you put all those great awards, and what does it mean to you when you see them?
Thanks Annj. I usually go straight to my parents house and drop them all off and let my mom decorate the house with them. But recently she told me that I have started to bring home too many, and to figure out where to put them at my place because her place is now full.
Her suggestion to me was to rent a storage unit if I didn’t want to keep them all over the house. They are all just hanging out at her house right now, and eventually when I decide where I want to move, then I will take them with me and start the decorating.
To see the trophies is pretty cool. It is what I have been working so hard for, and after struggling for for two years and now coming back and winning the championship in 2010, it makes it that much better. Seeing that I have all those number 1 trophies from each race except for two, it reminds me of how good of a year it really was, so it makes me really happy and makes me want to keep pushing.

Ford Falcon XB - new kit release
New release from the parts box is the Ford Falcon XB. this was the australian version of the falcon in 1973. (those unfamiliar with it, the two door version is used in 'the road warrior'). I'll do a review when i receive my copy. They also have the MFP police version (aka mad max).

WMX Rider Insight: Vicki Golden's 2010 Season Review
When Vicki Golden turned pro in 2009, she went into the season open minded; she just wanted to see how she'd do in the Pros. It worked out pretty well for Vicki as she consistently finished in the top 4 in the first 5 rounds of the 2009 WMX season. After a season ending injury to Trey Canard, Geico Honda gave Vicki an opportunity to ride Trey's bike the remainder of the season of the Women's Motocross Series. It was a great experience as she finished 4th in Colorado, but her season ended prematurely as she injured herself in a practice session at Perris Raceway before the 6th round in Washougal.
In 2010 Vicki came back healthy and was picked up by Moto Concepts Yamaha. She wasn’t as consistent as she expected, but she did finish the season 4th overall points, with a 3rd place finish at the Pala Raceway National. In 2011 she will be running the #4 plate in the AMA Women's Motocross Series.

Vicki got back from Geneva, Switzerland a few weeks ago where she participated in a women’s supercross exhibition race with some pretty stiff competition.
