WIP: 1/12 TAMIYA FERRARI 312T

Here's the 312T I'm currently working on. It's the re-released Tamiya kit with photo etched parts. The base engine is done (lots of plumbing left to do), as is most of the main monococque. The tub is painted with Testors aluminium metalizer, and the gold is Alclad titanium gold. This was my first use of Alclad paint (also did the wheels in chrome.) I'm impressed with the finish you can get with the Alclad, just need a little more practice on my end to perfect the chrome. I also used turned aluminum induction stacks from Studio 27.

I also tried a new technique for the guage faces and the steering wheel emblem (though it's hard to capture with my camera.) i used a product called "Realistic Water" that's used in model railroads for making river, ponds, etc. on scale layouts. I put a few drops in each gauge after the decal dried, and built up a lens. The shift knob is a few light and dark browns, then clear orange on top.
